The Origin Story

Why I built this.

I've been a fractional CMO for over a decade. I've worked inside manufacturing companies, trucking operations, public sector agencies, nonprofits, agronomy businesses, and coaching practices. The problems were always different. The buyers were always different. But one thing was always the same: good content wasn't getting found.

Not because it was bad. Because the technical infrastructure for AI search visibility didn't exist -- or if it did, nobody had built it in a way that made sense for a small team with no dedicated SEO budget. Every tool I found was built for agencies, enterprise teams, or technical founders who already knew what llms.txt was.

So I built VysIQ. A diagnostic tool and content service that tells you exactly what's broken, why it matters, and what to fix first -- without requiring you to become an AI search expert first. Vertical-specific, compliance-aware, and built for the businesses I actually work with.

I use VysIQ on my own clients every day. That's not a marketing line. That's why it keeps getting better.

Background

Marketing and sales. Always both.

I've been working in marketing professionally since 2011. But my background has always been a blend of marketing and sales -- and that combination gives me a very different lens than a lot of traditional marketers.

I don't look at content or branding in isolation. I'm constantly evaluating customer behavior, operational bottlenecks, conversion paths, team dynamics, sales processes, profitability, and long-term sustainability all at the same time. That's not a methodology. That's just how my brain works.

As a fractional CMO I'm extremely hands-on. I'm not the person who drops off a strategy deck and disappears. I help build the systems, refine the operations, lead the execution, troubleshoot the bottlenecks, align sales and marketing, and help teams operate more effectively. The biggest wins come from getting into the trenches together -- evaluating failures hand in hand, problem solving in real time, and celebrating when things finally click.

Most of the companies I work with are in a growth or transition phase. That's honestly where I thrive. Taking a business from reactive survival mode to sustainable momentum -- watching a leader go from buried and exhausted to confident and excited again -- that's the most rewarding work I know.
